Ms. Beji Saji has recently relocated to the United States and has been serving as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in wound care since 2020. Prior to this, she dedicated over a decade of her career to the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) in Abu Dhabi, from 2009 to 2020.
In 2023, Beji achieved her Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) credential from Walden University. She holds a wealth of academic qualifications, including the completion of the International Interprofessional Wound Care Course at the University of Toronto in Canada and a master’s degree in Clinical Skin Integrity and Wound Management from the University of Hertfordshire.
With extensive experience in the surgical field, Beji has earned a Certificate in Wound Care from the University of Hertfordshire. She has been recognized for her outstanding contributions, having received an Excellence Award from the Surgical Ward at SKMC and a Patient Care Excellence Award in Wound Care from the Executive Nursing Leadership at SKMC and Cleveland Clinic.
Beji actively participates in the healthcare community as a member of the International Interprofessional Wound Care Group (IIWCG) and as a former member of the SEHA Wound Care Advisory Group. She has also shared her expertise as a speaker at events such as WUWHS 2022, various wound care conferences, symposiums, in-service programs, and educational training sessions. Furthermore, Beji has authored or co-authored articles published in reputable journals like the Journal of Wound Care (JWC), Wounds International, and the WCET Journal.
With a deep passion for wound care, Beji reflects on her journey in nursing, stating, “My career as a nurse has opened doors to opportunities I could never have imagined when I began my journey years ago. It has provided me with the perfect blend of autonomy, collaboration with experts from diverse backgrounds, and, most importantly, the chance to positively impact the lives of patients and their families.”
